We’re firing up for the 2024-25 HAAC baseball season! The South Texas Shuffle starts TODAY, along with a few regular season games!
Given the time, we are proudly introducing our HAAC Power Rankings. These will be updated weekly and will include notes on why the movers and shakers went up or down!
There are a few surprises in the Week 1 rankings.
First off, incumbent HAAC champs Central Methodist start off the season at #2. They have looming loses in production that’ll have to be covered for by a seemingly strong transfer class. There’s little doubt the Eagles will be excellent, and they could win the conference again, but they have a little proving to do first.
Mid-America Nazarene will begin at #1. The returns of HB Pre-season All-Conference guys Noah Castillo and Drew Woodley (the former of which is also an NAIA Pre-season All-American) will look to steady the ship offensively this season, surrounded by a nice looking pitching staff. This all hinges on Castillo’s availability, given his one at-bat in the Coach Calderone Classic last week, but no negative reports have come out to seriously doubt his status.
